I became a psychologist through a winding and unexpected path. Growing up in a suburb of Dallas, I always had an interest in psychology and understanding other people and their experiences. Then, a sudden opportunity to study abroad in Chile for a summer in high school led to becoming proficient in Spanish and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Pomona College. I later returned to my early interest in psychology and completed my M.A. and then Ph.D. in School Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010.

My predoctoral internship was completed at the Child and Family Guidance Center in Northridge, CA., where I provided psychological assessments and therapy to children and teens in outpatient and day treatment school settings. After returning to Austin, I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Austin Child Guidance Center where I continued to work as a staff psychologist until 2018. At ACGC, I conducted psychological assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and parent trainings and workshops. I launched my private practice part time in 2014 and have been in full-time private practice since 2019.

Over ten years into this career, my love of supporting other people through psychological services continues. The human mind and spirit amaze me every day. I enjoy working with people of varied backgrounds in terms of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. I spend most of my free time with my husband, young son, and dog. I also like to play tennis, hike, walk and go to music and cultural events around town.
